ASTEROID DEFENSE · PRIVACY
Asteroid Defense is made by Stellar Soup Studios. The web version can share anonymous gameplay data with us so we can find bugs and see where players get stuck. This page explains what that data is and how to stop or delete it.
WHEN IT'S SHARED
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, nothing is shared unless you answer Yes, share under the game. Everywhere else it's on by default. You can switch it off at any time with the Share gameplay data checkbox under the game. While it's off, nothing is sent.
WHAT'S COLLECTED
- The keys and gamepad buttons you press, and which screen you were on.
- Which screens and menus you open, and when a run starts, reaches a new wave or ends (with your score).
- Replays of your runs: your inputs, which let us play a run back exactly.
- Error messages, if the game crashes.
- Your browser's name and version, your window size, whether you have a touchscreen, and which gamepad you use.
- A random player ID kept in your browser, and a new random ID for each visit, so we can tell runs apart.
We don't collect your name, email or account details, and we don't store your IP address. Our host, Vercel, sees your IP address to deliver the game, and uses it to work out your country so the game knows whether to ask first. Only the yes/no answer reaches the game.
WHERE IT'S KEPT
The data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database, sent there through Vercel. Only we can read it. We keep it until we no longer need it to improve the game, or until you delete it.
DELETE MY DATA
This deletes everything stored under this browser's player ID and switches sharing off. Your saved game isn't affected; it never leaves your browser.
